Goalkeeper Training in December
Extra-special training session for keepers attended by 14 keepers from across the area
Keynsham HC has been running regular training sessions for its goalkeepers for nearly a year now, but Saturday saw the first session run by an external coaches from Pinpoint Coaching, including Katie, a former Great Britain U23 goalkeeper. They were clearly very knowledgeable on their subject and their enthusiasm was infectious.
The session was opened up to goalkeepers from clubs across the areas and from the 14 attendees we had adult and junior keepers from Bath Buccs, City of Bath, Clifton Robinsons, Mendip, Old Bristolians, Westberries and others, as well as several from Keynsham.
Feedback seems to have been hugely positive. One keeper said "It was amazing and also brilliant to meet other keepers from other clubs." One youngster said: "I really enjoyed the GK training and got so much out of it."
Our grateful thanks to several members of the club who gave up their time on a Saturday afternoon to come along to hit ball and do ball collections! But particular thanks to Katie and Eva from Pinpoint Coaching. Keynsham HC hopes to run further sessions with them in the future.
